Chapter 6 - The True Monster

Every single pair of eyes in the room slowly turned toward the kitchen doorway.

Uncle Robert stood there, holding the damp kitchen towel loosely in his right hand.

The charming, supportive uncle persona completely vanished from his face in an instant.

His warm smile was replaced by a cold, calculating, and deeply sinister glare.

He let the towel drop to the floor, clapping his hands together in a slow, mocking rhythm.

He laughed out loud, a harsh and cruel sound that made Lily stir uncomfortably against my chest.

Robert brazenly admitted that he had orchestrated the entire scheme from the very beginning.

He had accumulated a massive amount of gambling debt and had been secretly draining the family trust for years.

When Evan discovered the missing funds, Robert knew his luxurious life was about to be completely destroyed.

He confessed that he had personally cut the brake lines on Evan's car in the dead of night.

He then terrorized his own sisters, tricking them into stealing Grandma's money to pay his fictitious extortion ring.

Grandma Margaret pointed a shaking finger at her son, declaring that she would see him rot in a federal prison.

Robert smirked and stated that he had absolutely no intention of going to jail today.

He slowly reached behind his back and opened the top drawer of the kitchen island.

He pulled out a loaded, silver handgun and pointed the barrel directly at my grandmother's chest.
