Chapter 4 - The Ghost From The Past

The heavy metal door sealed completely shut with a terrifying, absolute finality.
Detective Miller immediately rushed to the door and violently tried to pry the locking mechanism open.
It was entirely useless because the electronic system was securely controlled by Vanessa's remote.
My grandfather stood incredibly tall and glared at my sister with pure, unfiltered disgust.
He asked her exactly what she hoped to gain by trapping all of us inside this grounded plane.
Vanessa casually walked over to the leather sofa and sat down like a queen on a throne.
She calmly explained that the plane was actively fueled with thousands of gallons of highly flammable aviation gas.
She told us that her corrupt pilots had already locked themselves securely in the reinforced cockpit.
I desperately shielded Lily from my sister's crazy, empty eyes.
I asked her why she hated me so much that she would destroy her own life just to ruin mine.
Vanessa aggressively slammed her glass down on the wooden table, instantly shattering the delicate crystal.
She screamed that I had always been the golden child who received the massive trust fund and the fancy cars.
She angrily stated that she deserved every single penny of the family fortune because she played by their cruel rules.
Suddenly, a loud, heavy banging sound echoed violently from the outside of the thick cabin door.
Someone was desperately trying to break into the sealed aircraft from the freezing tarmac.
Vanessa frowned in genuine confusion because she clearly was not expecting anyone else to arrive.
The heavy emergency exit window located above the wing was suddenly shattered from the outside.
Freezing winter wind violently blasted into the warm cabin, knocking Vanessa completely off her feet.
A tall figure covered entirely in heavy snow climbed forcefully through the broken window.
He landed heavily on the carpeted floor and immediately raised a heavy metal wrench.
I gasped loudly and stepped backward in absolute, paralyzing shock.
He pulled down his frozen scarf to reveal a very familiar, bruised face.
It was Liam, the father of my baby, the man who had supposedly abandoned me months ago.
He looked directly at me with desperate, tired eyes filled with raw emotion.
He swore to me that he had never actually run away from our family.
He aggressively pointed the heavy metal wrench directly at a terrified Vanessa.

He revealed that my parents had completely fabricated the story of him leaving.
They had actually hired dangerous men to violently kidnap him and lock him in a warehouse so they could steal Lily.
