Norah collapsed onto the cold concrete floor like a broken doll.
Nico caught her in his arms, his agonizing scream completely drowning out the gunfire.
He pressed his heavy hands against her bleeding chest, trying desperately to stop the flow of life.
His grief instantly mutated into a horrifying, unstoppable wrath.
He picked up his weapon and charged directly through the hail of bullets.
He shot Arthur in the kneecaps, dropping the traitor to the ground.
Nico stood over his former underboss and emptied the rest of his magazine into Arthur's chest.
He did not wait to watch the traitor take his final breath.
Nico ran back to Norah, scooped her bleeding body into his arms, and carried her to his armored car.
He drove like a madman to the secret underground clinic reserved only for the highest mafia bosses.
The underground surgeon immediately placed Norah on the operating table and began the emergency procedure.
Nico stood outside the surgical room, his hands completely covered in her blood.
He dropped to his knees on the sterile floor and prayed for the first time in twenty years.
He swore to God that he would leave the criminal underworld forever if she just survived the night.
The surgeon finally walked out of the operating room after three agonizing hours.
