Chapter 2 - The Undercover Heiress

Richard stared at the young waitress in utter disbelief.
He looked at her cheap uniform and burst into cruel laughter.
He mocked the idea that a pathetic server could own a multimillion dollar property in the heart of the city.
Maya ignored his insults and calmly reached into her apron pocket.
She pulled out a highly advanced smartphone that was completely encased in military grade titanium.
This was not the kind of device a typical restaurant employee could ever afford.
Her posture completely shifted from a subservient waitress to a commanding leader.
"My name is Maya Sterling," she announced so the entire room could hear.
Richard stopped laughing instantly as his face drained of all color.
Sterling was his own surname and the name of his massive global corporation.
Maya was the only daughter of his older brother who had founded the company decades ago.
Everyone in the corporate world believed Maya had died in a tragic boating accident five years earlier.
Richard took a nervous step backward as he stared at the ghost standing in front of him.
He had personally paid a corrupt medical examiner to sign a fake death certificate.
He realized in this horrifying moment that his hired mercenaries had failed to sink her yacht.
Maya tapped a complex security code into her encrypted phone.
She pressed the sleek device to her ear and waited for a secure connection.
"Execute the hostile takeover protocol right now," Maya commanded into the receiver.
She ordered her hidden legal team to freeze all of Richard's corporate assets immediately.
Richard panicked and lunged across the table to grab the phone from her hands.
Elias moved with incredible speed and grabbed Richard by the collar.
The strong chef threw the wealthy executive forcefully back into his expensive chair.
The other wealthy patrons in the restaurant began whispering frantically and recording the scene on their phones.
Richard realized that his entire empire was crumbling in a matter of seconds.
He reached deeply into the inner pocket of his tailored suit jacket.
He did not pull out a wallet or another credit card.
He slowly withdrew a small metallic device equipped with a single red button.
A sinister smile replaced the look of pure panic on his face.
"I always knew you might come back to challenge me one day," Richard whispered dangerously.
May you like
He pressed his thumb firmly against the red button.
"That is why I rigged this entire restaurant with enough explosives to level the city block," he declared.
