Chapter 5 - The Shadow Guardian

A heavy glass skylight above the lobby shattered into a million tiny, glittering pieces.

A sleek black rope dropped down from the ceiling, followed instantly by a tall, athletic figure.

The man landed gracefully in the center of the dark lobby, wearing a perfectly tailored dark suit.

He did not carry a rifle, only a pair of sleek, suppressed silver handguns.

"Who the hell are you?" Thorne screamed, firing a blind burst of bullets into the darkness.

The man in the suit moved with terrifying, almost inhuman speed.

He disarmed two heavily armored mercenaries in the span of three seconds, knocking them unconscious with brutal precision.

The tactical laser sights darted wildly around the room as Thorne's men panicked entirely.

"I am Silas, the executor of the estate, and you are officially fired," the man replied smoothly.

Silas fired three rapid shots, expertly destroying the mercenaries' night vision goggles.

He swept Thorne's legs out from under him, sending the massive leader crashing hard onto the marble floor.

Within exactly forty-five seconds, the entire elite strike team was completely neutralized and groaning in pain.

The emergency backup lights finally flickered on, casting a dim yellow glow over the chaotic scene.

Silas casually adjusted his expensive silk tie and walked directly toward the teller counter.

He ignored Mark completely and immediately dropped to one knee in front of the little boy.

"I apologize for my delay, Young Master Leo," Silas said, bowing his head in deep respect.

Leo finally smiled, reaching out to give the deadly assassin a small, gentle hug.

"Did you find out who hurt my mommy and daddy?" Leo asked innocently.

Silas stood up, his sharp eyes turning dark and incredibly dangerous.

"Yes, I did, and unfortunately, they are currently walking through the front door of this bank," Silas warned.
