Chapter 2 - The Steel Trap

Massive titanium shutters slammed down over the front windows of the bank with a terrifying crash.
The heavy glass doors at the entrance automatically locked, sealing everyone inside the building.
Customers began screaming in absolute panic, dropping to the floor and covering their heads.
Sterling stumbled backward away from the counter, staring at the little boy as if he were a ghost.
"What did you just do?" Sterling screamed over the blaring red alarm.
The little boy simply reached into his oversized, dirty coat and pulled out a small, crumpled piece of paper.
"My daddy told me that if the lights turn red, bad men are coming to take me," the boy said softly.
Sterling's greed quickly overpowered his fear as he realized how much money was sitting right in front of him.
"Security, grab that kid right now and bring him to my private office!" Sterling barked at the two armed guards.
The guards hesitated, completely confused by the chaotic situation and the blaring sirens.
Mark stepped in front of the little boy, shielding him from the advancing security guards.
"You cannot touch him, Mr. Sterling, he is just a frightened child!" Mark yelled bravely.
Sterling let out a cruel, mocking laugh, pulling his own access keys from his pocket.
"That child is holding a bearer bond card worth billions, and I am going to claim it as abandoned property," Sterling sneered.
Before the guards could take another step toward Mark and the boy, a loud explosion rocked the front of the bank.
The heavy titanium shutters violently buckled inward under the force of a massive blast.
