Chapter 6 - The Shattered Vows
The audio recording of Vanessa's murder plot echoed like thunder through the massive chapel.
Hundreds of wealthy guests gasped in unison, turning their horrified eyes toward the altar.
I stood frozen in the sound booth, completely bewildered by what I was hearing.
I had never recorded Vanessa, which meant someone had intercepted my mail and swapped the USB drives.
Down at the altar, Adrian's smug composure shattered into absolute, purple-faced rage.
He lunged at his beautiful bride, grabbing her violently by the throat and slamming her against the marble pulpit.
"You treacherous witch!" Adrian roared, his voice carrying over the chaotic screams of the guests.
Vanessa clawed desperately at his hands, her expensive veil tearing as she struggled to breathe.
I realized I needed to find the real USB drive before Adrian killed her in front of everyone.
I turned back to the unconscious AV technician, hoping the original drive was still in his other pocket.
Suddenly, the old man opened his eyes and effortlessly sprang to his feet.
He wasn't an innocent technician at all.

He pulled a heavy, military-grade revolver from his waistband and pointed it directly at my chest.
"Vanessa hired me to kill him, but I think I'll just kill both of you instead," the fake technician smiled.
