Chapter 10 - The Dawn of an Empire

One month later, the bright morning sun bathed the towering glass skyscraper of Sterling Enterprises in a warm, golden light.
The heavy mahogany doors of the executive boardroom swung open, and the entire corrupt board of directors fell completely silent.
Clara walked into the room entirely on her own two feet, leaving her hated wheelchair perfectly empty in the hallway outside.
She stood at the head of the massive table, holding the legal documents that proved her undeniable ownership of the billion-dollar trust.
"As the majority shareholder of this corporation, my first official act is firing every single person sitting in this room," Clara declared with absolute authority.
The shocked executives scrambled out of the building, entirely powerless against the brilliant, resilient girl they had underestimated.
Leo was waiting for her outside the corporate headquarters, leaning casually against a brand-new sports car and smiling brightly.
Clara ran to him, and they shared a beautiful, romantic kiss in the bright sunlight, completely victorious over the darkness.
Later that quiet evening, Clara returned to her massive, peaceful childhood home to finally claim her late mother’s hidden belongings.
She unlocked the antique wooden box her mother had hidden secretly inside the floorboards before her tragic, suspicious death.
Instead of family jewelry, she found a fresh, highly classified photograph of Leo’s father shaking hands with the judge who just sentenced Richard.

Written on the back of the photograph in her mother’s unmistakable handwriting was a chilling, impossible warning.
"Richard was only strictly following their orders, and the true architects of your paralysis are actively coming to finish the job."
