Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Inheritance
The wealthy board members instantly erupted into a state of absolute, hysterical panic as Daniel proudly held up the detonator.
Daniel threatened to blow everyone in the room to ashes if Claire did not sign the company over immediately.
He demanded that she trade her massive inheritance for the lives of every innocent person in the building.
Claire stood perfectly still, refusing to show the madman even a single ounce of fear or hesitation.
While Daniel was distracted by his own villainous monologue, Noah pulled out his modified medical tablet.
Using the hospital's network frequency he had hacked earlier, Noah silently flooded the room with a massive broadband jamming signal.
Daniel laughed and aggressively clicked the red detonator button, fully expecting the building to collapse in a fiery explosion.
Absolutely nothing happened, leaving the room completely silent except for the soft hum of the air conditioner.
Before Daniel could realize his signal was jammed, the corporate security team tackled him violently to the ground.
The police arrived moments later, heavily shackling Daniel and dragging him away to face a lifetime in federal prison.
The board of directors, thoroughly horrified by the truth, unanimously voted to restore Claire to her rightful position as CEO immediately.
Claire turned to Noah, wrapping her arms around his neck, and they shared a deeply passionate, victorious kiss in the center of the boardroom.
A year later, they had left the corporate chaos behind and moved to a peaceful, beautiful beach house to start a quiet life together.
They returned home after a romantic dinner, laughing happily as they unlocked their front door.
Sitting squarely on the kitchen island was a small, intricately carved wooden box that had not been there when they left.

Claire opened it to find a familiar red mallet and a single, chilling photograph resting inside.
The picture clearly showed Noah, sleeping peacefully in their new bed just last night, taken from a camera placed directly inside their room.
