Chapter 7 - The Blast Zone

Dominic froze completely, his fist hovering angrily in the air above Marcus's face.
Marcus laughed again and held up a small, black detonator with a blinking red light.
He claimed the bomb would detonate instantly if his thumb ever left the heavy metal button.
Dominic knew this was not a bluff, because the Falcones were notoriously ruthless and suicidal.
He slowly lowered his fist and backed away, keeping his weapon trained directly on Marcus.
Enzo quickly pushed Sophia and Lily toward the metal staircase leading out of the office.
Marcus yelled that nobody was allowed to leave the room, or he would blow them all to pieces.
Dominic stepped directly between his family and the unhinged rival boss.
He told Enzo to get them out of the building right now, no matter what happened.
Sophia refused to leave Dominic behind, her eyes filled with desperate, heartbreaking tears.
Dominic looked at her and said he loved her more than life itself.
Enzo grabbed Sophia tightly by the arm and forced her forcefully down the metal stairs.
Marcus screamed in absolute rage and moved his thumb slightly off the detonator button.
Dominic lunged forward with impossible speed, grabbing Marcus's hand to keep the button pressed down.
The two massive men wrestled violently for control of the tiny, lethal device.
Marcus kicked Dominic brutally in the injured ribs, forcing a gasp of intense pain.
Dominic held on tenaciously, refusing to let the button slip even a single millimeter.
He heard the heavy warehouse doors slam shut, meaning Sophia and Lily were finally safe outside.
Dominic suddenly twisted Marcus's wrist completely backward until the bone snapped with a sickening crack.
May you like
Marcus screamed in agony and dropped the detonator onto the metal floor grating.
The heavy device bounced once, slipped entirely through the metal slats, and fell into the dark basement below.
