Chapter 6 - The Unexpected Alliance
Dominic stared at his former best friend, completely prepared to die right there on the docks.
He told Enzo to pull the trigger and get it over with.
Enzo slowly lowered the heavy shotgun and shook his head in deep exhaustion.
He told Dominic that he did not come here to kill him.
Enzo explained that Carlo had manipulated everything from the very beginning.
Carlo had blackmailed Enzo into planting the bug and threatening Sophia in the kitchen.
Enzo had purposefully missed his sniper shot because he never actually wanted to hurt them.
He had followed Carlo to the docks to help Dominic rescue the woman and the child.
Dominic did not fully trust the man, but he desperately needed the extra firepower.
He nodded slowly, accepting the incredibly fragile alliance for the time being.
They stacked up against the heavy metal door of the abandoned warehouse.
Enzo kicked the door open, and they swarmed into the dark, cavernous space together.
They systematically cleared the ground floor, taking down four armed Falcone guards in total silence.
They moved toward a glowing light coming from a small administrative office on the second level.
Dominic crept up the metal stairs, his heart pounding with raw, terrified anticipation.
He looked through the dirty glass window of the office and saw Marcus sitting at a desk.
Sophia was tied to a chair in the corner, holding Lily tightly against her chest.
Marcus was casually loading a silver revolver, completely unaware of the danger outside the door.
Dominic signaled for Enzo to take the left side of the room while he took the right.
They kicked the office door completely off its hinges and stormed inside.
Marcus jumped up in pure shock, dropping his silver revolver onto the desk.
Dominic rushed forward and violently tackled the rival boss to the concrete floor.
He pinned Marcus down and began brutally beating him with his bare fists.
Enzo quickly untied Sophia and checked little Lily for any injuries.
Dominic pulled Marcus up by his collar, ready to deliver a fatal, crushing blow.
Marcus spat blood onto the floor and started laughing hysterically.

Marcus proudly announced that he had planted a massive bomb entirely underneath this warehouse.
