Chapter 5 - The Ultimate Betrayal

Dominic slammed his foot on the brake pedal, throwing the heavy truck into a violent skid.
He aggressively threw the transmission into reverse and sped backward toward the mansion.
He realized instantly that his oldest mentor had completely sold him out.
Carlo had used the promise of safety to deliver Sophia and Lily directly to the enemy.
Dominic crashed the truck violently through the massive iron gates of the estate.
The heavy vehicle crushed the manicured hedges and skidded to a halt on the pristine driveway.
He kicked the door open and sprinted toward the front entrance with his weapon drawn.
The heavy oak doors were already securely locked and barricaded from the inside.
Dominic shot the hinges off the door and kicked it fiercely into the grand foyer.
The house was completely and utterly silent.
He searched every single room on the ground floor, his heart hammering violently against his ribs.
He found Carlo sitting comfortably in the formal dining room, sipping a glass of expensive wine.
Carlo did not even flinch as Dominic pressed the hot barrel of his gun against his forehead.
He calmly stated that business was business, and the Falcones simply paid a much higher price.
Dominic demanded to know exactly where Marcus had taken Sophia and his daughter.
Carlo smiled a cruel, sickening smile and took another sip of his dark red wine.
He refused to say a single word.
Dominic did not have time to interrogate the old, treacherous man.
He pistol-whipped Carlo into unconsciousness and began tearing the room apart for clues.
He found a discarded burner phone resting near an empty chair.
He opened the recent messages and saw a specific address located in the industrial shipping yards.
Dominic sprinted back to his damaged truck and sped furiously toward the docks.
The shipping yards were a massive labyrinth of rusted metal containers and heavy machinery.
He navigated the maze perfectly, stopping near a massive, abandoned warehouse near the water.
He crept toward the side entrance, listening carefully for any sounds of movement.
He heard a heavy, metallic click coming from the shadows directly behind him.

Dominic spun around quickly, ready to fire his weapon.
Standing there was Enzo, covered in bandages and pointing a heavy shotgun directly at Dominic's chest.
