Chapter 3 - The Forced Signature

Parker stepped into the foyer, forcing me to stumble backward into the living room.

The two massive men followed him inside and immediately locked the heavy deadbolt behind them.

They stood perfectly still in front of the exit, crossing their muscular arms like prison guards.

Parker casually instructed his mother and sister to wait patiently in the kitchen while he handled his hysterical wife.

He looked at me with an expression completely void of the love he had faked for seven years.

He placed his expensive leather briefcase on the coffee table and clicked the golden latches open.

He pulled out a thick stack of legal documents and dropped a silver pen right on top of them.

He claimed these papers were just standard forms to transfer our country house into a family trust for tax purposes.

I knew instantly that these documents were designed to strip me of my only remaining asset.

I absolutely refused to sign anything without my personal lawyer present in the room.

Parker sighed heavily, as if my defiance was nothing more than a minor, annoying inconvenience.

He stepped closer to me, his voice dropping to a terrifying, menacing whisper.

He told me that I had been working entirely too hard and that my mental health was clearly declining.

He suggested that signing the house over would relieve me of my stressful financial burdens.

I stared into the eyes of a complete stranger, realizing he intended to leave me with absolutely nothing.

I grabbed Dustin's hand and confidently declared that we were walking out the front door immediately.

Parker's fake smile completely shattered, replaced by a look of pure, unadulterated rage.

He snapped his fingers, signaling the two large men to step aggressively toward the bottom of the stairs.

Parker calmly stated that Dustin was going to be locked in the upstairs bedroom until I signed every single page.
