The tall man calmly aimed the deadly weapon right at my husband's chest.
I froze in pure terror, unable to comprehend the nightmare my life had suddenly become.
The man introduced himself as Silas, a private debt collector working for the underworld.
He completely ignored the terrified nurses who were now desperately calling hospital security.
Silas coldly explained that Chloe had stolen exactly five hundred thousand dollars from his powerful boss.
Since Chloe was dead, the massive debt now legally transferred to her newborn daughter.
He demanded that we hand the baby over to him as collateral, or he would execute Luke right here.
Luke bravely stepped in front of me to shield me from the line of fire.
He angrily told Silas that he had already paid off half of that dangerous debt months ago to keep Chloe safe.
I stared at the man I married, realizing I did not know him at all anymore.
He had secretly mortgaged our beautiful family home to pay off a ruthless mobster.
I asked Silas who his terrifying boss was and why they wanted an innocent infant.
Silas let out a dark, cruel laugh that sent shivers through my entire body.
He lowered his weapon slightly and smiled a wicked, sinister smile.
