Chapter 9 - The Financial War

My hands shook violently as I logged into my mobile banking application.

Every single account I owned had been completely drained, showing a terrifying balance of zero dollars.

Vanessa had somehow bypassed the biometric security while I was dealing with the cartel thugs.

I immediately called the emergency fraud hotline for my bank.

"I did not authorize these transfers, my sister stole my identity," I told the representative frantically.

"I am sorry, Miss Miller, but the funds were wired to an untraceable offshore account in the Cayman Islands," the banker explained.

"Because the transfer was initiated using your physical security key, we cannot reverse it without a court order."

I hung up the phone and threw it angrily against the velvet sofa.

My family had successfully stripped me of everything I had spent ten agonizing years building.

I sat on the floor, letting the tears of frustration finally fall.

But the despair only lasted for five minutes before it transformed into pure, calculated rage.

I opened my laptop and logged into a hidden, encrypted server I had set up years ago.

I was the one who managed Dad's failing construction business, and I was the one who did Mom's taxes.

I knew exactly where every single one of their hidden, illegal assets was buried.

I spent the next two hours systematically hacking into Dad's secret offshore retirement accounts.

I transferred every single penny he had hidden from the IRS directly to a charity for abandoned children.

Then, I accessed Vanessa's fake startup company accounts and initiated a total liquidation of her assets.

I sent all of her stolen investor money back to the original victims with a note detailing her fraud.

I sat back in my chair and watched the digital confirmations roll in.

They wanted to play a financial war, and I had just dropped a nuclear bomb on their entire future.

A sharp knock echoed from my suite door, interrupting my quiet victory.

"Miss Miller, it is Captain Reynolds, we need you to come with us," the voice called out.

I opened the door, expecting to see the captain smiling with good news.

Instead, Captain Reynolds was standing there with two Mexican federal police officers holding heavy iron handcuffs.
