Chapter 3 - The Forged Documents
I stood in the hallway, staring at the steward in complete disbelief.
"A medical power of attorney?" I asked, my voice dangerously calm.
"Yes, she presented official paperwork stating you were a danger to yourself," the steward whispered nervously.
I turned around and marched directly to the ship's main security office on deck three.
I did not yell, I did not cry, and I certainly did not act like a woman having a breakdown.
I calmly asked to speak to the Chief of Security regarding a massive case of identity theft.
A tall, stern woman named Captain Reynolds brought me into her private office.
I sat down and pulled out my laptop, quickly accessing my digital legal files.
"My sister forged a medical document to steal my penthouse suite," I explained clearly.
Captain Reynolds frowned and pulled up the document Vanessa had submitted to the front desk.
I pointed to the signature at the bottom of the scanned page.
"That is my mother's handwriting, not a judge's signature," I proved, showing her my mother's signature on a past check.
Captain Reynolds' eyes widened in realization.
"This is a federal crime in international waters," the captain stated seriously.
"I want her removed from my room immediately," I demanded.
Captain Reynolds dispatched a team of five officers to the penthouse suite.
I followed them up the glass elevator, ready to watch my sister face the consequences of her greed.
The officers did not bother knocking when we reached the top deck.
They used a master keycard and burst into my beautiful room.
Vanessa was sitting on my plush velvet sofa, drinking my expensive champagne.
"What is the meaning of this?" Vanessa demanded, trying to sound authoritative.
"You are under arrest for fraud, Miss Miller," Captain Reynolds announced loudly.

Vanessa dropped her champagne glass, shattering it completely on the marble floor.
"You cannot arrest me, I am pregnant!" Vanessa suddenly screamed, clutching her stomach.
