Chapter 4 - The Fake Pregnancy

The room went completely silent after Vanessa's desperate declaration.
I stared at my sister, knowing instantly that this was just another one of her pathetic lies.
"You drank half a bottle of champagne in the last hour, Vanessa," I pointed out dryly.
Captain Reynolds crossed her arms and glared at my sister.
"Ship medical staff will examine you in the holding cell," the captain instructed firmly.
The officers hauled Vanessa out of my suite while she kicked and screamed like a spoiled child.
I thanked the security team and finally locked the door from the inside.
I spent the next morning enjoying a private massage and ordering room service to my balcony.
I refused to let their endless drama ruin the vacation I had worked so hard to afford.

I answered the call, ready to tell him to leave me alone forever.
"Millie, you have to help me," Brandon begged, his voice cracking with genuine panic.
"I am not giving you any money, Brandon," I replied sharply.
"It is not about money, Millie," he whispered frantically.
"I found out why Vanessa forged those documents to get into your specific room."
I sat up straight, suddenly feeling a cold chill run down my spine.
"What are you talking about?" I asked cautiously.
"She was not trying to steal your room for the luxury, she was trying to access the safe," he explained.
"She planted something illegal in there before you boarded, and she needed to retrieve it."
I dropped the phone on the couch and sprinted across the room to the heavy metal safe hidden in the closet.

I typed in my personal code, and the heavy steel door clicked open.
Sitting right on top of my passport was a massive, vacuum-sealed bag of white powder.
