Chapter 7 - The Master Server

The server room was on the sub-level of the Geneva compound. It was a sterile, freezing room bathed in blue LED light, humming with the power of the OmniCorp algorithm.
Sophia swiped Victor’s phone at the main console. A mechanical voice chimed.
“Biometric authentication required.”
Sophia placed the silicone thumbprint on the scanner and leaned into the retinal reader, wearing the customized optical contact lens over her right eye.
The machine hummed. “Access Granted. Welcome, Victor.”
Sophia exhaled a breath she didn't know she was holding. She pulled Gabriel’s heavily encrypted hard drive from her dress and plugged it into the mainframe.
She began downloading the master decryption key—the undeniable proof that OmniCorp’s entire algorithm was built on the Savoy family’s proprietary code. She also downloaded Victor’s private ledgers, detailing the bribes, the assassinations, and the political blackmail he had used to build his empire.

Suddenly, the blue LED lights turned a violent, flashing red. A deafening alarm blared through the compound.
“Warning. Unauthorized data extraction detected. Perimeter lockdown initiated.”
Sophia’s heart slammed against her ribs. Victor’s system had a failsafe.

She yanked the hard drive out just as the heavy titanium doors of the server room began to slide shut. Sophia dove, sliding across the polished floor, barely making it through the gap before the doors slammed shut, sealing the room like a tomb.
She sprinted for the garage. Heavy boots thundered down the hallways behind her. Victor’s private security was awake.
