Chapter 10 - The Sovereign of the Coast

Six months later.

The sun was beginning its slow, crimson descent over the sweeping cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, casting long, dramatic shadows across the ancient stucco façade of the Villa dell'Eternità.

The estate had not been bulldozed. It had been fully restored to its former glory.

Sophia stood on the Belvedere Courtyard, leaning against the ornate stone balustrade, looking out at the shimmering Tyrrhenian Sea. The air was thick with the scent of wild lemon blossoms.

The heavy glass doors of the terrace opened. Gabriel walked out, wearing a relaxed linen suit, holding two glasses of vintage wine. He handed one to his sister.

"The markets just closed," Gabriel said, clinking his glass against hers. "Savoy-Omni Holdings is up twelve percent for the quarter. The transition is complete. You are officially the majority shareholder and CEO."

Sophia took a sip of the wine, the rich, complex flavor grounding her in reality.

Victor was sitting in a maximum-security prison in The Hague, awaiting trial for international corporate espionage and multiple counts of murder. His empire had been completely dissolved, the assets legally returning to the Savoy family.

"We did it," Sophia whispered, looking out at the vast, endless horizon.

"No," Gabriel smiled, resting his hand on her shoulder. "You did it. I built the case, but you walked into the lion's den. You are exactly the ruler this family needed, Sophia."

Sophia looked down at her hands. There was no wedding ring. There were no bruises. There was only the steady, unshakeable strength of a woman who had been dragged through hell and returned carrying the devil's crown.

She turned back to the sea, the wind catching her dark hair. The fading royal bloodline was no longer fading. It had been reborn in fire, and Sophia Savoy was the undisputed sovereign of the new empire.

She raised her glass to the setting sun.

"To the future," she said.

And for the first time in her life, the future belonged entirely to her.
