Chapter 4 - The Roman Escape

They fled through the subterranean smuggling tunnels that emptied directly into the Tyrrhenian Sea. Gabriel had stashed a high-speed Zodiac boat in a hidden cove. Under the cover of darkness, they tore across the water, the cold sea spray washing away the remnants of Sophia’s bridal makeup.
By dawn, they had reached a non-descript safehouse in the bustling heart of Rome.
Sophia sat at a rusted metal table, wrapped in an oversized trench coat Gabriel had given her, sipping bitter black coffee. The shock was wearing off, replaced by a cold, searing fury.
"How did you survive the crash?" Sophia asked, staring at her brother's scarred cheek.
"An Interpol agent was tracking Victor’s syndicate," Gabriel explained, laying the blueprints and encrypted hard drives on the table. "He pulled me from the wreck right before it exploded. I’ve spent the last five years in hiding, building a case. Victor’s entire tech empire, 'OmniCorp', is built on a stolen quantum-predictive algorithm. It predicts global market fluctuations with 99% accuracy. That's how he became a billionaire overnight."
"And the blueprints?"
"They prove the original code was written on our servers," Gabriel said, rubbing his eyes. "But it isn't enough. Victor owns the judges. He owns the media. To destroy him, we need the master decryption key. It’s a piece of code that proves the algorithm's origin."
"Where is it?" Sophia asked.
"It's stored on Victor’s personal biometric server," Gabriel sighed, sounding defeated. "It's kept in a heavily guarded penthouse in Geneva. And it requires his exact retina and fingerprint scan to access. It's impossible."
Sophia stared into her black coffee. A dangerous, audacious plan began to form in her mind. Victor was a monster, but he was a monster possessed by an obsessive ego. He didn't just want her family's assets; he wanted her as his ultimate trophy.
"It's not impossible," Sophia said softly, her eyes hardening into diamonds. "I can get it."
Gabriel frowned. "How?"
"Victor needs the wedding to finalize the merger before the European Union audits his shell companies," Sophia said, standing up. "He needs me. I’m going back."

"Are you insane?" Gabriel grabbed her arm. "He will kill you!"
"He won't kill his bride," Sophia said, pulling away. "I’m going to play the broken, terrified princess. I will give him his wedding. And on our wedding night, I will steal his biometric data and burn his empire to the ground."
