Chapter 9 - The Fall of the Queen

The deafening gunshot echoed off the jagged cliffs as the bullet missed Lily entirely.

Victor slammed Marcus into the wet rocks, punching the corrupt guard ruthlessly in the face.

The gun clattered away into the darkness, completely useless to either man.

Serena realized she was losing control of the situation and panicked.

Instead of running away, she lunged aggressively toward Lily with a hidden silver pocketknife.

Lily dodged the first desperate slash and grabbed Serena's wrist with both hands.

The two women struggled fiercely on the slippery edge of the deadly cliff.

Serena fought with the wild strength of a cornered animal, trying to push Lily over the drop.

"You are just as pathetic as your dead sister!" Serena hissed venomously.

Lily refused to let the monster win again.

She twisted Serena's arm sharply, forcing the cruel woman to drop the silver blade.

Lily then threw a powerful punch directly into Serena's perfect jawline.

The impact sent Serena stumbling backward on her expensive designer heels.

She lost her footing on the wet, mossy rocks and began to slide backward toward the abyss.

Serena screamed in absolute terror as she desperately clawed at the muddy ground.

She slipped completely over the edge, dangling by one hand on a jagged piece of stone.

Lily immediately rushed forward and grabbed Serena's arm to stop her from falling to her death.

Victor, having finally knocked Marcus unconscious, ran over to help pull the heavy woman up.

"I will never let go, Serena, just give me your other hand!" Lily yelled over the wind.

Serena looked up at the woman whose family she had destroyed, unable to comprehend the mercy she was being shown.

Serena slipped from Lily's grasp and vanished into the thick fog below.
