Chapter 7 - The Final Destination

The heavy silence in the SUV was only broken by the roaring engine.
Victor stared at the woman sitting beside him, realizing how deeply he had been deceived by everyone.
"You think Serena caused the car crash that killed my wife?" Victor asked, his voice trembling with rage.
Lily nodded, her eyes flashing with a fierce determination for justice.
"I infiltrated your home to find the proof, and I promised my sister I would protect Ethan with my life," Lily explained.
Victor gripped the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles turned completely white.
He pressed the accelerator harder, tearing down the coastal road toward the abandoned airfield.
The GPS tracker showed the helicopter had finally landed near the edge of the massive cliffs.
They arrived ten minutes later, their headlights cutting through the thick, salty ocean fog.
The black helicopter was parked on the cracked asphalt, but the rotors were completely silent.
Victor pulled a heavy steel tire iron from the trunk of the SUV to use as a weapon.
They slowly approached the dark aircraft, ready for an ambush.
Victor yanked the cabin door open, fully prepared to strike Serena down.
But the helicopter was completely empty.
The pilot had vanished, and there was absolutely no sign of Serena or the baby.
Lily noticed a set of fresh footprints leading away from the aircraft toward the treacherous cliffside.
They ran through the thick fog, the sound of crashing ocean waves growing louder with every step.
At the very edge of the deadly drop, they finally found her.
Serena was standing inches away from the two-hundred-foot drop, holding a crying Ethan over the abyss.

Marcus, the corrupt security guard, stood beside her with his gun aimed directly at Victor's chest.
"I told you I always get exactly what I want, Victor," Serena laughed maniacally into the wind.
