Chapter 7 - The Blood Price

Dominic rubbed his bruised wrists and stared into the cold eyes of his oldest enemy.
“What is your price, Marcello?” Dominic asked, his voice rough and exhausted.
Marcello wiped the blade of his knife on his expensive trousers.
“I want the shipping ports in Brooklyn, and I want the offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands.”
It was half of Dominic’s entire empire, a massive fortune built over decades of blood and sacrifice.
But Dominic did not care about the money or the power anymore.
He only cared about saving a little girl and the mother who had fiercely protected her.
“You have a deal,” Dominic agreed without a single second of hesitation.
Marcello laughed loudly, clearly surprised by how easily Dominic had surrendered the territories.
“First, we need to get your girls back from that treacherous doctor,” Marcello ordered.
They loaded into heavily armored transport vehicles and sped back toward the underground clinic.
When they arrived, the front doors of the clinic were already smashed open.
Dominic felt a cold wave of panic wash over him as he rushed inside with his weapon drawn.
He expected to find Mia and Harper dead on the cold linoleum floor.
Instead, he found Silas tied to his own operating table, bleeding heavily from a broken nose.
The doctor was crying like a child, begging for mercy.
“Where are they?” Dominic roared, pressing his gun directly to the doctor’s forehead.
Silas choked on his own blood and swore he did not know.
“She woke up while I was calling Nathan’s men,” Silas sobbed.
“She broke her own handcuffs, beat me half to death, and stole my car.”
Dominic lowered his gun, absolutely stunned by the revelation.
Mia Carter was not just a simple maid who folded laundry and poured wine.
She had formal, deadly training that no ordinary civilian could possibly possess.
Dominic's phone suddenly vibrated in his pocket with an unknown number.

He answered it, and Mia’s calm, completely altered voice spoke through the speaker.
“Dominic, I am outside the Hudson Valley estate, and I am going to kill Nathan myself.”
