Chapter 3 - The Innocent Witness

The armored car smashed violently through the burning debris of the destroyed front gates.
Alejandro rolled down his window and fired his weapon aggressively at the unknown mercenaries.
He killed two attackers instantly before the driver slammed the car into the front steps of the mansion.
Alejandro kicked his door open and sprinted into the grand foyer where his staff was being held.
He found Bruno engaged in a brutal firefight with three heavily armed intruders.
Alejandro shot the mercenaries in the back and helped his trusted friend secure the massive room.
The terrified household servants screamed and hid beneath the heavy wooden dining tables.
Claire Carter was shielding her little daughter Emma in a dark corner behind a marble pillar.
Alejandro walked over to them and gently told the mother that they were finally safe.
He turned his cold gaze toward his brother Lorenzo who was hiding cowardly behind a velvet sofa.
Alejandro demanded to know how a private army had managed to bypass the estate defenses.
Lorenzo nervously claimed that a rival syndicate must have discovered the location of their safe house.
Emma suddenly peeked out from behind her mother and pointed a trembling finger directly at Lorenzo.
The little girl told Alejandro that she had seen the bad man sneaking into the study earlier that afternoon.
She said Lorenzo had put something from a small shiny bottle into the tall glass of red wine.
The entire grand foyer fell completely silent as the heavy accusation hung in the smoky air.
Lorenzo turned pale and let out a forced laugh to cover his rising panic.
He called the little girl a filthy liar who was just trying to get attention.

Alejandro stared deeply into his brother's eyes and saw the undeniable truth hiding in the shadows.
Lorenzo realized his deadly treason had just been exposed by a four-year-old child.
