Chapter 6 - The Poisoned Apple

That night, Julian poured two glasses of vintage champagne and met Genevieve on the rooftop terrace. The city glittered below them, completely oblivious to the silent war being waged in the penthouse.
"Genevieve," Julian said, handing her a glass. "I've been thinking about our future. My empire is expanding, and I want to consolidate my assets. I'm establishing the Vanguard Family Trust."
Genevieve’s eyes gleamed with raw, predatory hunger, though she expertly masked it with a soft smile. "A family trust, darling? What does that mean?"
"It means I want to merge my liquid assets with yours," Julian lied smoothly. "I want to put everything—my properties, my offshore capital, and your investments—into a single, impenetrable fortress. But to do that, you'll need to sign over the operational control of your Cayman accounts to the Trust's umbrella."
Genevieve hesitated. Her Cayman accounts were her safety net. Her stolen millions. But the greed in her heart was too strong. Julian was worth billions. If she merged her funds, the payout when she inevitably divorced him would be astronomical.

"If you think it's best for our future, Julian," she whispered, leaning in to kiss him. "I'll sign whatever you need."
"Excellent," Julian smiled, the ice in his eyes hidden by the dim lighting. "I'll have my lawyers draft the contracts. We can announce the merger at the Autumn Equinox Gala this weekend."
