Chapter 1 - The Hidden Danger
The crisp autumn air carried a chilling breeze as Victor Hale stepped out of his massive estate.
He adjusted the cuffs of his tailored suit and prepared for another ruthless day in the corporate world.
His black SUV waited at the bottom of the grand marble staircase exactly where it always was.
But before he could take another step, a tiny, trembling hand grabbed his expensive sleeve.
He looked down and saw a young girl hiding behind the heavy stone pillar.
"That is not your driver," the little girl whispered.
Her eyes were wide with absolute terror.
Victor frowned and looked closely at the man standing beside the vehicle.
The driver was wearing the correct uniform and had his cap pulled low, but his posture was entirely wrong.
"What is your name, little one?" Victor asked softly.
"I am Lily," she replied, her voice shaking uncontrollably.
Lily pointed a small finger toward the elegant front doors of the mansion.
"I saw your pretty wife kissing that man in the driveway ten minutes ago," Lily cried.
Victor felt his entire world violently shatter as his wife Eleanor stepped out onto the porch.
Eleanor offered Victor a beautiful, flawless smile that suddenly looked completely sinister.
She locked eyes with the fake driver and gave him a tiny, almost invisible nod.
The driver immediately reached inside his dark suit jacket and pulled out a heavy pistol.

He scooped Lily into his arms and sprinted desperately toward the thick woods lining the estate.
A silenced gunshot hissed through the air, completely shattering the stone pillar where they had just been standing.
