Chapter 7 - The Sister's Greed

Victoria stepped out of her luxury SUV wearing an incredibly expensive designer outfit and a smug, victorious smile.

She crossed her arms and casually demanded that I hand over the encrypted hard drive immediately.

She gloated that she was going to use her massive share of the stolen money to live like absolute royalty.

I clutched Leo tightly and firmly told my sister that she was going to spend the rest of her life in federal prison.

Victoria laughed and confidently revealed that she had just sent a heavily armed tactical team to Ethan's exact location.

She promised that if I didn't surrender the drive in ten seconds, she would give the immediate order to execute my husband.

My entire body trembled with absolute fury as I realized my own sister was willing to murder my husband for money.

I slowly reached into my jacket, pretending that I was going to willingly hand over the black hard drive.

Instead, I pulled out the heavy medical scalpel and aggressively slashed it across the front tire of her luxury vehicle.

The expensive tire violently exploded with a deafening pop, causing the heavy vehicle to aggressively tilt to one side.

Victoria screamed in pure frustration and lunged toward me with her perfectly manicured hands outstretched.

I completely sidestepped her clumsy attack and shoved her forcefully directly into the concrete wall of the garage.

She collapsed onto the dirty floor, sobbing and cursing my name as I quickly jumped into my stolen car.

I slammed my foot on the accelerator and recklessly squeezed my vehicle past her crippled SUV to escape the garage.

I drove frantically toward the local FBI field office, desperately hoping to find at least one honest federal agent.

As I approached the massive federal building, I immediately noticed three unmarked black vans parked near the entrance.

A group of heavily armed men wearing identical tactical gear were quietly surrounding the entire perimeter of the building.

Marcus had already used his massive financial resources to completely buy off the local security forces.

I realized I could absolutely not trust anyone affiliated with standard law enforcement in this heavily corrupted city.

I needed to safely reach someone completely outside of their massive sphere of influence before they tracked me down.

I turned the car around and drove toward an abandoned military airfield on the desolate outskirts of the county.

I sent a deeply encrypted message to General Thomas Vance, a highly decorated officer who owed Ethan his life.

General Vance replied instantly, promising to personally meet me at the airfield with a heavily armed extraction team.
