Chapter 7 - The Escape

Thick dust and dangerous debris rained down as chaos completely consumed the dark warehouse.

Gunfire erupted blindly in every direction, the mercenaries panicking in the sudden darkness.

Julian grabbed Shiomara by the arm and forcefully pulled her up from the floor.

"Run toward the water!" Julian roared over the deafening sound of automatic weapons.

Elias was carrying Elena over his shoulder, sprinting through the destroyed wall toward the docks.

Victor screamed in pure rage, demanding his men shoot anything that moved in the shadows.

Sofia stayed behind, firing precisely to keep the mercenaries pinned down while her family escaped.

Shiomara ran as fast as her tired legs could carry her, her heart pounding against her ribs.

They reached the edge of the freezing water, desperately looking for the extraction boat they had arranged.

But the dark water was completely empty.

Suddenly, a sharp gunshot echoed from the warehouse, followed by Sofia's radio going completely dead of static.

"Sofia!" Elias screamed, spinning around to run back into the dangerous building.

Julian grabbed his brother's shoulder, holding him back with tears in his eyes.

"We have to protect Shiomara and the girl, it is what she wanted," Julian choked out painfully.

Flashlights began to pierce the darkness as Victor's surviving men swarmed out of the warehouse.

They quickly surrounded the small group at the edge of the docks, aiming their weapons with lethal intent.

Victor walked slowly through the crowd of mercenaries, bleeding from his forehead but smiling wickedly.

"End of the line, you pathetic street rats," Victor declared, raising his own pistol toward Shiomara.
