Chapter 3 - The Betrayal

The interior of the luxurious car felt entirely completely suffocating as the driver aimed his weapon.

"Victor sends his regards," the treacherous driver sneered, preparing to pull the trigger.

Julian was in the other car, leaving Elias and Sofia trapped with the armed traitor.

Without hesitating, Sofia forcefully kicked the steering wheel from the passenger seat.

The heavy armored vehicle swerved violently across the wet asphalt.

The driver lost his balance and fired a wild shot that shattered the bulletproof glass.

Elias lunged forward, wrapping his strong hands around the driver's neck and disarming him instantly.

The Rolls-Royce crashed hard into a concrete barrier, deploying airbags in a cloud of white smoke.

Shiomara gasped for air, her entire body aching from the brutal impact.

Elias kicked his door open and dragged Shiomara out into a dark, abandoned alleyway.

Sofia followed closely behind, clutching her bleeding shoulder where a piece of glass had cut her.

"We cannot trust anyone on our security payroll anymore," Elias panted, scanning the dark street.

Shiomara looked around and realized they had crashed near the old neighborhood where she used to live.

"Follow me, I know a safe place," Shiomara ordered, suddenly finding her courage.

She led the wealthy siblings down a hidden stairwell into a forgotten, underground maintenance room.

As they sat in the dark to catch their breath, Elias’s encrypted cell phone suddenly rang.

He put the device on speakerphone so everyone in the quiet room could hear.

"You might have escaped the car, but you forgot something very important," a cold, cruel voice echoed from the phone.

"I have your beautiful daughter, Shiomara," Victor Sterling whispered.
