Chapter 5 - The Rescue Mission

The cold wind howled violently as they approached the rusted gates of the abandoned shipyard.

Elias and Julian moved like shadows, silently taking down the armed guards patrolling the perimeter.

Shiomara stayed close behind Sofia, gripping the cold metal of the handgun with trembling fingers.

They slipped inside a massive, dark warehouse smelling of old oil and decaying wood.

In the center of the room, a single bright spotlight illuminated a wooden chair.

Elena was tied securely to the chair, her head slumped forward in exhaustion.

"Elena!" Shiomara cried out, unable to stop herself from rushing forward.

She dropped to her knees beside the beautiful young woman, desperately untying the thick ropes.

Elena slowly lifted her head, looking at the crying woman with complete confusion.

"Who are you?" Elena whispered, her voice hoarse from crying.

"I am your mother," Shiomara sobbed, finally holding the child she had mourned for two decades.

Elias swept the area with his rifle, feeling that the warehouse was far too quiet.

"Something is wrong, there is no security detail inside," Elias warned the group.

Elena's eyes suddenly widened in sheer terror as she looked past Shiomara's shoulder.

"Mom, he told me to tell you he is sorry," Elena cried out rapidly.

Dozens of red laser sights suddenly activated from the dark catwalks above.

Every single red dot was aimed perfectly at the chests of Shiomara and the three triplets.
