Chapter 5 - The Fractured Alliance

The hidden camera captured every single moment of the explosive argument echoing through my living room.

Julian aggressively threw the mortgage documents right into Serena's face, accusing her of secretly stealing from his private accounts.

Serena screamed back at him, crying defensive tears as she swore she had absolutely no idea how those papers got into my safe.

Arthur chuckled softly beside me in the morgue, admitting that he had planted the forged documents to breed severe paranoia between the two traitors.

He explained that breaking their trust was the crucial first step in completely detonating the load-bearing pillars of their lives.

I watched with immense satisfaction as Julian aggressively grabbed Serena by the arm and shoved her toward the front door.

He told her to leave the estate immediately and warned her not to return until the funeral was officially over.

Serena stumbled out into the rainy night, sobbing hysterically as the heavy mansion door slammed shut behind her.

Julian poured himself another glass of champagne, running his hands nervously through his hair.

He pulled his cell phone from his pocket and dialed a number, putting the call on speakerphone for our hidden microphone to catch.

A deep, raspy voice answered the phone, asking Julian if the wealthy architect was finally dead.

Julian confirmed my passing, but he frantically warned the mysterious caller that the offshore accounts were currently frozen by a legal technicality.

The man on the phone laughed coldly, stating that Julian had exactly twenty-four hours to deliver the money, or he would be buried right next to his dead wife.
