Chapter 3 - The Blood Contract

Dominic did not pull the trigger.
He knew killing Marco in a Catholic orphanage would bring endless police scrutiny.
He firmly ordered Marco to leave the premises immediately and never return to the estate.
Marco laughed bitterly before turning his back and walking out into the cold afternoon.
Dominic knelt down gently and coaxed his terrified daughter out from under the desk.
He carried Mia to his bulletproof town car and ordered his loyal driver to head to the safehouse.
Once Mia was safely asleep in the back seat, Dominic opened the sealed envelope.
The letter inside was written in frantic, shaky handwriting by a woman named Anna.
Anna explained that she was Elena's younger sister.
She wrote that Marco had ordered Elena's execution because he believed love made Dominic a weak leader.
Anna had managed to save the baby and run, hiding in the shadows for years.
The letter ended with a terrifying warning that Marco controlled half of Dominic's own security team.
Dominic's phone suddenly vibrated with an encrypted text message.
It was from his driver, who was sitting only two feet away in the front seat.
The message read, "I am sorry, boss, but Marco pays better."

The driver suddenly slammed on the brakes in the middle of a deserted bridge.
Dominic looked up to see four black SUVs blocking their path in both directions.
