Isabella slammed her foot on the gas pedal, sending the ambulance speeding down a dark highway.
Marcus was not with me.
The firefighters had forced him into a separate medical vehicle to treat his smoke inhalation.

I tried to sit up, but the drug in my system made my limbs feel like heavy lead.
Isabella locked the back doors from the driver's console.
She connected a terrifyingly cheerful voice over the intercom system.

The ambulance bounced violently over the rough terrain.
We finally stopped outside an abandoned warehouse deep in the woods.
She walked to the back of the ambulance and opened the doors with a vicious grin.
She grabbed my stretcher and roughly pulled me out into the freezing night air.
