Chapter 6 - The Forged Signature

Marcus and I ignored the police officers processing the crime scene and sprinted back to our car.
We broke every single speed limit driving back to the hospital in absolute panic.
When we finally burst through the ICU double doors, chaos had taken over the floor.
Charlotte was standing triumphantly outside Emma's room with a tall man in an expensive suit.
Josh was blocking the doorway, aggressively arguing with two hospital administrators.
"You cannot take my daughter anywhere!" I screamed, charging toward my sister.
Charlotte crossed her arms and flashed me a perfectly practiced, sympathetic smile.
"I am so sorry, Rebecca, but the court has decided you are unfit," Charlotte said smoothly.
The man in the suit stepped forward and handed me a thick stack of legal documents.
"I am Judge Harrison, and I have granted emergency medical custody to your sister," he stated coldly.
I stared at the paperwork in disbelief, my eyes frantically scanning the pages.
The documents contained a forged psychological evaluation claiming I suffered from severe psychosis.
There was also a sworn affidavit from my parents stating I intentionally pushed Emma out of the treehouse.
"This is insane, they tried to kill my baby!" I yelled, waving the papers in the air.
Judge Harrison adjusted his expensive tie and looked at me with absolute disgust.
"The evidence is clear, and Charlotte is legally transferring Emma to a private facility immediately," he ruled.
I looked through the glass window and saw an unknown medical transport team unhooking Emma's monitors.
They were going to take her away and quietly finish the job they started.
Marcus violently grabbed the judge by his collar and slammed him against the wall.
"If you touch my daughter, I will kill every single one of you," Marcus roared.
Hospital security rushed forward, forcefully pulling Marcus away and pinning him to the floor.
Charlotte smirked and motioned for the transport team to wheel Emma's bed out.
I fell to my knees, screaming for someone to help us stop this nightmare.
Nurse Dana suddenly stepped in front of the moving hospital bed, blocking their path.

"Nobody is moving this patient," Nurse Dana announced with terrifying authority.
She pulled a glowing audio recorder from her pocket and held it high in the air.
