Chapter 8 - The Federal Raid

The intense sonic siren caused my brother to flinch violently, pulling his shot wide into the brick wall behind me.
Before he could chamber another round, five unmarked black tactical vehicles smashed through the wooden privacy fence simultaneously.
Wood splintered and flew through the air as the heavy armored trucks completely surrounded the patio.
Dozens of heavily armed FBI agents swarmed the backyard, their red laser sights locking squarely onto my brother's head and chest.
My grandfather stepped calmly out of the lead vehicle, leaning elegantly on a silver-tipped walking cane.
He looked at my brother with a smug, triumphant grin that completely shattered the arrogant illusion of control.
My grandfather loudly explained that he had placed a microscopic GPS tracker on the jacket I was wearing.
He had intentionally allowed me to retrieve the flash drive to catch my brother attempting a violent, premeditated murder on federal cameras.
My mother dropped to her knees in pure terror, realizing her entire criminal empire was collapsing before her eyes.
She began weeping hysterically, pointing a shaking finger directly at her favorite son.
She begged the federal agents for total immunity, screaming that my brother had forced her to participate in the massive trust fund theft.
My brother stared at his mother in absolute disgust, realizing she was willing to sacrifice him to save her own skin.
He dropped the hunting rifle onto the concrete, but he did not raise his hands in surrender.

Instead, he reached into the deep pocket of his jacket and pulled out a small, heavy digital detonator switch.
He laughed a cold, hollow laugh and declared that if he could not have the fifty million dollars, absolutely nobody would.
