Chapter 4 - The Grandfather's Arrival

My grandfather stepped into the small examination room with the commanding presence of a king entering his court.
He looked down at my sister's bleeding leg, and a terrifying shadow of pure fury crossed his face.
He raised a single hand, and four massive men in dark suits stepped out from behind him to completely block the hallway.
The private security team formed an impenetrable wall between us and the approaching local police officers.
My grandfather looked directly into my eyes and told me he had seen the viral video online.
He said he knew instantly that the video was a complete fabrication orchestrated by my mother.
He gently picked my sister up in his arms, entirely ignoring the blood staining his incredibly expensive suit jacket.
He ordered his security detail to clear a path to the private medical transport elevator.
We bypassed the frantic emergency room completely, escorted straight into the back of a waiting armored SUV.
As the heavy doors slammed shut, a private concierge doctor immediately began treating and stitching my sister's wound inside the vehicle.
I finally caught my breath and asked my grandfather why he had suddenly appeared after ten years of absolute silence.
He sighed heavily, pouring a glass of water from the luxury console and handing it to me.
He explained that our late father had established a massive, fifty-million-dollar trust fund exclusively for my little sister.
The trust was legally scheduled to unlock and transfer completely into her name on her upcoming eighteenth birthday next week.
If she passed away or was deemed legally incompetent due to severe self-harm before that date, the money would default entirely to my mother and brother.
They were systematically building a fake medical history to have her permanently institutionalized.
My grandfather reached into his leather briefcase and pulled out a thick, sealed legal dossier.
He handed me a freshly printed life insurance policy that had recently been taken out on my sister.

I scanned the bottom of the document and felt my blood run completely cold.
The primary medical witness signature at the bottom of the form belonged to the exact same triage nurse who had just locked us in the hospital room.
