Chapter 9 - The Final Standoff
Sarah and Logan lay gasping for air on the cold, wet roof of the stacked cargo containers.
They had miraculously survived the deadly fall, but they were still trapped inside David's heavily guarded shipping yard.
Sarah peered carefully over the edge of the container and saw David marching angrily toward the loading docks.
He was screaming at his remaining mercenaries, absolutely furious that the crane operator had dropped the box too early.
Sarah knew they had to find a way to escape the heavily fortified perimeter before David realized they were still alive.
She helped Logan quietly climb down a narrow, rusted maintenance ladder attached to the side of the towering stacks.
They navigated the dark, confusing maze of shipping crates, desperately avoiding the sweeping beams of security flashlights.
They finally reached the main security gate, but it was heavily blocked by three heavily armed guards.
Sarah picked up a heavy, jagged stone from the ground, fully prepared to fight to the absolute death for her son.
Suddenly, the loud screech of heavy tires echoed as a fleet of black armored vehicles smashed directly through the front gates.
Dozens of elite FBI agents poured out of the vehicles, aiming laser-sighted rifles directly at the terrified mercenaries.
David panicked instantly and sprinted toward a private getaway helicopter waiting nearby on the landing pad.
Sarah absolutely refused to let the monster who had terrorized her family simply fly away without facing justice.
