Chapter 4 - The Betrayal of Blood

Sarah stared at the detective’s drawn weapon, her mind violently struggling to process the impossible, terrifying truth.
Her estranged sister, Chloe, had clearly stolen a dead woman's identity to infiltrate Logan’s school.
Detective Stone did not shoot her, but instead, he violently smashed the security camera in the corner of the room.
"You need to leave this city right now, Sarah," the detective warned in an urgent, hushed whisper.
He confessed that a powerful, invisible shadow organization completely controlled the entire local police force.
They were ruthlessly hunting for an encrypted hard drive that David had secretly hidden before his supposed death.
Stone rapidly handed Sarah a set of unmarked car keys and an anonymous, untraceable burner phone.
"There is a black sedan parked in the back alley, take it and drive exactly to the address programmed into the GPS," he ordered.
Sarah grabbed the items, completely terrified but fiercely determined to save her innocent, missing son.
She sprinted out the back exit of the precinct, jumping into the running vehicle and speeding aggressively away.
She drove for three agonizing hours into the dark, desolate mountains until she reached an abandoned lumber warehouse.
She kicked the rusted metal door completely open, holding a heavy tire iron tightly in her shaking hands.
Instead of finding her kidnapped son, she found Chloe tied tightly to a wooden chair in the center of the dark room.

Chloe looked up with a bloody, bruised face and whispered a terrible, devastating truth.
"They already moved him, Sarah, and they are planning to kill him tonight."
