Chapter 7 - The Container

Gunfire erupted furiously inside the warehouse as the mysterious attackers engaged David's heavily armed mercenaries.
Sarah did not hesitate for a single fraction of a second, sprinting wildly toward the large shipping container.
Bullets sparked violently against the concrete floor right behind her flying, desperate heels.
She reached the heavy metal doors of the container and aggressively threw the heavy locking lever open.
She burst inside the dark, metallic box, frantically calling out Logan’s name in the pitch-black space.
A small, trembling voice answered her from the very back of the freezing, empty container.
Sarah rushed forward and scooped her crying son into a fierce, desperately protective embrace.
"I have you, baby, everything is going to be completely okay," she whispered, kissing his forehead repeatedly.
She knew they could not possibly run back out into the warehouse while the brutal, deadly firefight raged on.
She spotted a small, rusted emergency ventilation hatch located high up on the roof of the container.
She quickly stacked two broken wooden crates together, helping Logan climb safely toward the narrow opening.
Suddenly, the heavy container doors slammed completely shut behind them, plunging them into total darkness.
A mechanical lock clicked heavily from the outside, trapping them entirely inside the steel box.

David’s mocking voice echoed loudly through the thin metal walls.
"Have a nice, quiet trip to the bottom of the ocean, Sarah."
