Chapter 1 - The Silver Scissors
Mark walked into the grand foyer of his massive estate and immediately heard loud crying.
He dropped his heavy leather briefcase onto the marble floor and rushed toward the living room.
The sound of the desperate weeping sent a cold shiver directly down his spine.
His seven-year-old daughter, Sarah, was sitting helplessly on the expensive Persian rug.
Her beautiful, long blonde hair had been brutally and unevenly chopped off.
Jagged chunks of golden hair were scattered all over the immaculate living room floor.
Mark fell to his knees and asked frantically what had happened to her beautiful hair.
Sarah pointed a trembling finger at the tall woman standing by the grand stone fireplace.
She cried out that Victoria had cut it all off with the sharp silver scissors.
Victoria was Mark's new fiancé and the woman he truly thought would be a perfect stepmother.
Mark stood up slowly, his blood boiling with absolute rage and painful betrayal.
He demanded to know if Victoria really did this terrible thing to his little girl.
Victoria did not look sorry or remorseful in the slightest.
She coldly stated that Sarah was misbehaving, so she gave her a strict and necessary lesson.
Mark could not believe the cruel and heartless words coming out of her mouth.
He pointed his finger toward the front door and told her to pack her bags immediately.
Victoria crossed her arms and proudly declared that he could not throw her out of the mansion.
Mark yelled loudly that he was protecting his precious daughter from a monster like her.
Sarah hugged Mark's leg tightly and begged him not to let Victoria near her ever again.
Mark promised his sweet girl that Victoria was leaving their home right now, forever.
Victoria glared at him with icy eyes and warned that he was making a huge mistake.
Mark fired back fiercely that the only mistake was ever letting her into their peaceful lives.
He pulled out his smartphone and immediately called the local police department for help.
Two uniformed officers arrived at the sprawling estate within ten short minutes.
The lead officer stated that he had quickly reviewed the security footage from the living room cameras.
Victoria desperately pleaded that this entire situation was just a massive misunderstanding.
The officer sternly told her that she was coming with them to the station right now.
They placed Victoria in shiny metal handcuffs and escorted her out the heavy oak door.
Mark finally breathed a massive sigh of relief and hugged his traumatized daughter tight.
Later that night, Mark sat at his computer desk to permanently delete the traumatic security footage.
He pressed play one last time and froze in absolute horror at what he actually saw.

She was frantically cutting away a small, blinking red tracking device that someone had glued directly to Sarah's scalp.
