Chapter 15 - The Island Fortress
The deafening sound of the helicopter blades faded into the stormy night, leaving the ruined highway in a haunting, desolate silence.
Adrian crawled across the shattered glass, his heart shattered into a million pieces as he reached Noah’s unconscious body.
Emma groaned in pain, pressing her bloody hand against her grazed shoulder as she dragged herself over to help Adrian.
She refused to let him surrender to despair, grabbing his face and forcing him to look at her through the blinding rain.
She fiercely reminded him that he was the Wolf of the West Coast, and it was time to show the world exactly why they used to fear him.
Within an hour, Adrian’s Red Protocol extraction team arrived, securing the perimeter and loading the wounded family into a heavily armored transport.
They relocated to a subterranean command center hidden beneath the industrial shipyards of San Diego, completely off the grid.
Adrian’s top intelligence brokers immediately began tracking the unique encrypted radio signature of Caroline’s helicopter.
By dawn, they had pinpointed the location: an impenetrable, heavily fortified private island off the coast of Baja California.
It was the main stronghold of Julian Vance, a fortress guarded by anti-aircraft batteries, naval mines, and three hundred cartel mercenaries.
Adrian stood before a massive digital map of the island, his face a mask of cold, calculating, and absolute vengeance.
He knew a direct assault would be suicide, resulting in Lily’s immediate execution the moment alarms were triggered.
He needed a ghost team, a small unit capable of bypassing the thermal radar and infiltrating the central vault from beneath the ocean.
Emma stepped forward, wearing a black tactical suit and carrying a modified sniper rifle over her uninjured shoulder.
Adrian immediately tried to stop her, arguing that it was a suicide mission and she needed to stay behind to care for Noah.
Emma cut him off, her voice vibrating with an unshakeable, terrifying resolve that matched his own.
She stated that Lily was her daughter in every way that actually mattered, and she was going to put a bullet between Caroline’s eyes herself.

Adrian looked at the fierce, undeniable love burning in Emma’s eyes and finally nodded in silent, deep respect.
They loaded into a stealth submersible hidden in the docks, sinking beneath the black waves as they headed toward the lion’s den.
