Chapter 6 - The Viper's Venom

The Viper cracked his massive neck, his dark eyes locking onto me with absolute, predatory malice.

The crowd of Syndicate members cheered violently, eager to watch a heavily trained killer destroy a child.

Two armed guards forcefully pushed me into the center of the sand-filled arena, locking the heavy steel gates behind me.

I took a deep breath, trying to silence the terrifying roar of the crowd exactly as my father had taught me.

The Viper did not hesitate, charging directly at me like an enraged, unstoppable rhinoceros.

He swung a massive, heavily calloused fist that would have easily shattered my skull upon impact.

I dropped completely to the floor, rolling swiftly across the rough sand to avoid the devastating blow.

His fist smashed aggressively into the steel barricade, leaving a massive dent in the heavy metal.

He roared in frustration, spinning around to launch a vicious barrage of lethal kicks toward my ribs.

I used my small size and extreme agility to my advantage, darting rapidly between his heavy legs and dodging his strikes.

But I knew I could not simply run away forever against a man with bottomless stamina.

I remembered a highly specific pressure point technique my father had shown me during a midnight training session.

The Viper lunged forward again, overcommitting his massive body weight in a desperate attempt to grab my uniform.

I did not retreat this time.

I stepped directly into his dangerous path, dodging his grasping hands by a mere fraction of an inch.

I drove my stiffened fingers with maximum velocity directly into the nerve cluster located just beneath his armpit.

The massive fighter completely froze, his eyes widening in absolute shock as his entire nervous system temporarily short-circuited.

I instantly followed up with a spinning heel kick directly to his temple, using every single ounce of my remaining strength.

The Viper collapsed heavily face-first into the dirt, entirely unconscious before his massive body even hit the ground.

The entire arena plunged into absolute, stunned silence, completely unable to process what they had just witnessed.

I stood over the fallen giant, breathing heavily, and pointed a challenging finger directly up at Silas on the balcony.

"I won," I shouted bravely. "Now let them go."

Silas stared down at me, his charming smile completely dissolving into an expression of pure, unadulterated hatred.

He raised his heavy pistol and aimed it directly at my father's chest.

"I never actually planned on letting him live," Silas whispered coldly, pulling the hammer back.
