Chapter 6 - Enemy of My Enemy

The chief of police kept his heavy rifle completely steady.

He shouted over the deafening roar of the helicopter blades.

He completely shocked them by demanding they get inside the chopper immediately.

Marcus hesitated but realized they had absolutely no other choice.

They scrambled into the back of the heavy aircraft as it lifted off.

The chief of police did not shoot them or arrest them.

He explained that the Blackwood Syndicate had entirely destroyed his city.

He wanted the corrupt bank manager dead just as much as they did.

The chief needed the blue drive to completely expose the shadow government.

Sarah clutched the drive tightly against her chest.

She refused to hand it over until the boy's mother was completely safe.

The chief agreed to the terms and completely altered their flight path.

They flew dangerously low over the dark ocean toward the industrial docks.

The shipping yard was heavily illuminated and crawling with armed guards.

The chief handed Marcus a heavy assault rifle and a tactical vest.

He promised to provide aerial sniper cover while they breached the main warehouse.

The helicopter hovered silently over a massive stack of shipping containers.

Marcus and Sarah quickly repelled down the thick tactical ropes.

The boy climbed down easily with entirely unnatural agility.

They hid in the dark shadows between the towering metal crates.

They could see the bank manager pacing inside the brightly lit warehouse.

He was yelling at a woman tied securely to a metal chair.

The boy's mother looked heavily bruised but still completely defiant.

Marcus gave the hand signal to violently breach the front doors.

May you like

Suddenly the helicopter above them violently exploded in a ball of fire.

The chief of police had been shot entirely out of the sky by a rocket launcher.
