Chapter 4 - The Island Wrath

Matteo stood on the balcony of his luxury villa in Santorini.

He stared at the Mediterranean Sea, his hands gripping the stone railing tight enough to crack it.

His encrypted phone was displaying a series of catastrophic banking alerts.

Someone had bypassed his biometric security and drained his most vital contingency funds.

Only one person in the world possessed the intelligence and access to do that.

Harper walked out onto the balcony wearing a silk robe and a careless smile.

"Come back to bed, baby," she purred, wrapping her arms around his waist.

Matteo turned around and grabbed her aggressively by the throat.

He slammed her back against the stone wall, watching the arrogant smile vanish from her face.

"Pack your bags and get out of my sight," Matteo growled.

He dropped her to the floor and threw a stack of European cash at her feet.

He realized in that moment that Harper was nothing but a cheap distraction.

Norah was the only woman who mattered, and she had just stolen his fortune and his heir.

Matteo dialed his second in command back in Boston.

He ordered his men to burn the city to the ground until they found his pregnant wife.

He placed a five million dollar bounty on her head, completely open to the dark web.

Back in America, Norah walked into a cheap roadside motel to hide for the night.

The tired motel manager looked at her soaking wet clothes and handed her a room key.

Norah locked the door, stripped off her cold clothes, and collapsed onto the stiff mattress.

She heard a strange clicking sound coming from the hallway.

She looked up and saw the metal deadbolt locking into place from the outside.
