Chapter 7 - The Fatal Mistake

"Do not move a single muscle, Rocco," Bianca commanded with a shaking, totally desperate voice.
Her beautiful designer dress was completely ruined, covered in mud and dried blood.
Rocco slowly raised his empty hands, completely terrified for his crying son's life.
"You have the digital drive, Bianca, just take it and walk away," Rocco reasoned calmly.
Bianca laughed, a highly hysterical and completely unhinged sound that echoed in the warehouse.
"Julian forcefully took the drive from me and threw me to the wolves," she sobbed angrily.
She pressed the cold barrel of the gun harder against the innocent toddler's temple.
"The Moretti cartel absolutely requires the boy's blood to access their offshore trust funds," she explained.
Rocco realized that Bianca was completely trapped and desperately trying to buy her own life with his son.
Elena watched the terrifying standoff through half-open, incredibly weak eyes from the sofa.
"Bianca, you are far too smart to die for a man like Julian," Elena whispered weakly.
Bianca sneered and briefly took her eyes off Rocco to glare at the bleeding nanny.
That tiny fraction of a second was the only single mistake she ever needed to make.
Rocco lunged forward like a vicious predator, aggressively grabbing the hot barrel of the gun.
The weapon fired loudly into the ceiling as Rocco violently twisted it out of her grip.
He threw Bianca incredibly hard against the brick wall, knocking her completely unconscious.
Rocco quickly scooped a traumatized Noah into his arms, kissing his forehead repeatedly.
Suddenly, the heavy metal roll-up doors of the warehouse began to violently rattle.

Julian's voice echoed loudly through a high-powered megaphone from the street outside.
"You are completely surrounded, little brother, and I am burning this building to the ground."
