Chapter 6 - The Invisible Thief

Panic instantly gripped Rocco's chest as he frantically searched his torn tuxedo pockets.

The incredibly valuable digital drive containing the cartel's secrets was completely gone.

Director Vance narrowed her cold eyes and slowly raised her hand to signal her armed agents.

"If you are trying to play games with me, you will deeply regret it," Vance warned dangerously.

Rocco desperately tried to remember every single movement he had made since the car exploded.

He suddenly remembered bumping heavily into Bianca right before the initial mansion attack.

"Bianca must have stolen it back during the chaos in the foyer," Rocco realized with mounting dread.

Vance sighed heavily in pure disappointment and turned her back on them.

"Without that drive, you are absolutely useless to the federal government," the Director stated coldly.

She ordered her men to pack up their gear and completely abandon the clearing.

"You cannot just leave her here to bleed to death in the dirt," Rocco shouted angrily.

The federal helicopter lifted slowly into the dark sky, completely ignoring his desperate pleas.

Rocco tore the sleeves off his expensive shirt and tightly bound Elena's severe shoulder wound.

"We have to get to my private safe house near the docks," Rocco said with fierce determination.

He effortlessly carried the injured former agent while coaxing little Noah to walk quietly beside them.

They walked for agonizing hours through the freezing wilderness until they finally reached the city outskirts.

Rocco unlocked the heavy steel door of his hidden warehouse just as the sun began to rise.

He laid Elena gently onto a leather sofa and turned around to lock the reinforced door.

Standing perfectly still in the exact center of the dark room was Bianca Hayes.

She was holding a loaded gun directly at Noah's head.
