Chapter 4 - The Brother's Betrayal

Rocco stared at his older brother in complete and utter disbelief.
Julian was supposed to be in Europe managing the family's legal corporate assets.
Instead, he was standing in the freezing forest surrounded by highly trained mercenaries.
"You sold out your own flesh and blood to the Moretti cartel?" Rocco asked angrily.
Julian laughed smoothly and casually adjusted his expensive silk tie.
"I merely agreed to return their missing prince in exchange for absolute control of this city," Julian confessed.
He gestured aggressively for his heavily armed men to move forward.
"Hand over the boy right now, and I will actually let you walk away alive," Julian promised.
Rocco tightened his protective grip around his crying son.
"I would rather die than give my child to a gang of ruthless murderers," Rocco declared fiercely.
Elena slowly reached into her dark jacket, perfectly hiding her movements from the armed men.
She locked eyes with Rocco for a fraction of a second, silently communicating her desperate plan.
Elena suddenly threw a blinding flashbang grenade directly at Julian's feet.
The brilliant white light temporarily blinded the entire mercenary squad.
Rocco immediately fired three rapid shots, taking down the closest guards.
He ran blindly deeper into the thick, dark woods with Elena covering their dangerous retreat.
They could easily hear Julian screaming furious orders through the heavy forest fog.
Elena suddenly grabbed Rocco's arm and pulled him sharply behind a massive oak tree.
She was bleeding profusely from a severe gunshot wound directly on her left shoulder.

"I cannot keep running, you have to leave me behind," Elena whispered weakly.
Before Rocco could argue, a massive spotlight from a hovering helicopter pinned them directly to the ground.
