Chapter 10 - The Truth Unveiled

The red and blue police lights painted the rainy night sky as the nightmare finally came to an end.
Paramedics rushed into the warehouse, wrapping Sarah in a warm thermal blanket and checking her vitals.
Daniel walked slowly down the metal stairs with Lily resting safely against his chest.
Sarah ran forward, tears of absolute joy streaming down her face as she embraced them both.
Detective Reynolds approached the reunited family with a comforting smile on his weathered face.
"Mark confessed to everything to avoid a lethal injection, including the murder of the real Vanessa," the detective explained softly.
"What about Evelyn?" Daniel asked, holding his family close to him.
"Her body washed up two miles down the river, she didn't survive the fall," Reynolds confirmed.
A few months later, the Vance family had successfully rebuilt their lives in a beautiful new home overlooking the city.
Daniel's company was fully restored, and Mark was locked away in a federal prison for the rest of his life.
Sarah had regained her health and her memory, glowing with happiness as she watched Lily play in the sunny backyard.
The terrible darkness of the hidden room felt like a distant, faded nightmare they had finally woken up from.
They were completely safe, deeply loved, and incredibly grateful for their second chance at a perfect life.
A week later, Daniel was cleaning out the attic when he found a dusty wooden box hidden beneath Sarah’s old winter coats.
He pried the lid open and pulled out a stack of architectural blueprints for the ruined mansion.
