Chapter 10 - The New Beginning

Emily's heart stopped entirely as she stared at the empty, sterile incubator.

The tiny pink blanket inside was rumpled, but Baby Grace was completely gone.

Absolute panic seized her throat, and she screamed Julian’s name with every ounce of air in her lungs.

Julian burst into the room, his sharp eyes scanning the space in a fraction of a second.

He immediately drew his weapon and sprinted toward the hospital's emergency exit stairwell.

Emily followed closely behind him, her terrified mind spiraling into the darkest corners of terror.

They burst through the heavy fire doors and rushed into the hospital's dimly lit private parking garage.

A woman dressed in a fake nurse's uniform was frantically trying to unlock a silver sedan.

She held a small, bundled blanket incredibly tightly against her chest.

Julian raised his gun and aggressively ordered the woman to freeze and drop the keys.

The fake nurse slowly turned around, revealing the desperate, tear-stained face of Madison's younger sister.

She sobbed hysterically, claiming Madison had forced her to do this to use the baby as a legal bargaining chip.

Emily did not patiently wait for the police to handle the situation.

She marched directly up to the trembling woman and fiercely snatched her daughter back.

Grace let out a soft cry, instantly calming down the exact moment she felt her mother’s familiar warmth.

Julian kicked the car keys away and firmly held the woman against the car until hospital security arrived.

The horrific nightmare that had consumed their lives was finally, truly over.

Two months later, the sprawling Carter estate was filled with the beautiful sound of laughter and bright sunlight.

Mark had been officially sentenced to fifteen years in a federal penitentiary without the possibility of early parole.

Madison had rightfully received twenty years in prison for kidnapping, extortion, and attempted murder.

Emily sat peacefully on a beautiful picnic blanket in the garden, watching Grace, Lily, and Hope play on their colorful playmats.

The triplets were incredibly healthy, remarkably strong, and growing faster every single day.

Julian walked smoothly across the green grass, carrying a tray of fresh iced tea and delicate sandwiches.

He sat down closely beside Emily and gently kissed her forehead.

They had successfully built a beautiful family out of the ashes of betrayal, anchored by genuine love and unwavering trust.

Emily smiled at him, deeply knowing she had finally found her true happy ending.

Suddenly, the heavy iron gates of the estate buzzed loudly with an incoming delivery notification.

The estate manager walked cautiously up to them, holding a small, unmarked black box sealed with thick red wax.

He told Emily it had been left at the gate by a silent courier who completely refused to give a name.

Emily nervously broke the wax seal and opened the box, her breath suddenly catching in her throat.

Inside rested a perfectly intact, bloody hospital bracelet, but this time, it had Julian's name printed on it.
