Chapter 7 - The Mastermind Revealed
Mrs. Chen stepped into the holding cell and adjusted her simple knitted cardigan.
She casually explained that she was not just a sweet, retired nurse who liked to bake cookies.
She was actually a retired counterintelligence officer who had worked for the federal government for forty years.
She had noticed my suspicious injuries years ago and started running a quiet, independent investigation on my family.
She had tapped their phones, intercepted their mail, and documented every single illegal transaction they made.
Agent Miller looked at Mrs. Chen with profound professional respect and absolute awe.
The evidence she provided was more than enough to completely exonerate me and destroy the fake federal warrant.
Agent Miller officially dropped all the fabricated charges against me and handed me back my personal belongings.
She informed me that a federal strike team was currently mobilizing to raid my parents' massive estate.
I asked if they were also going to arrest Sarah for her violent role in the horrific conspiracy.
Agent Miller nodded firmly, confirming that warrants had been issued for all three of my wicked family members.
We watched the live drone feed from the federal command center as heavily armed agents surrounded my childhood home.
The agents breached the front doors, flooding the lavish living room with blinding tactical lights and drawn weapons.
They found my mother and father frantically trying to shred highly incriminating financial documents in the home office.
Both of my parents were aggressively pinned to the floor and placed in tight federal handcuffs.
I felt a massive wave of pure relief wash over my exhausted soul as I watched them lose their arrogant power.
But the relief was incredibly short-lived when the tactical commander reported back over the secure radio channel.

They had searched every single room in the massive house, but the primary target was missing.
Sarah had completely vanished into the night, and she had taken my father's registered hunting rifle with her.
